Sanjana Meshram
Sanjana Meshram is a criminal defence lawyer and heads the litigation team at Criminal Justice and Police Accountability Project (CPA Project). The organisation is based in Madhya Pradesh, is committed to ending the disproportionate targeting of marginalized communities by the criminal justice system. She was also an Urban fellow with the Indian Institute of Human Settlements (IIHS), Bangalore, where she studied policy and governance of the metropolitan city from a caste lens and its relation to urban crime.
Sanjana belongs to the Dalit community and was born and brought up in a small town in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. She completed her primary and secondary education in her hometown and then moved to Mumbai to study law from the Government Law College.
Sanjana loves tending to her assortment of plants carefully curated from different corners of Bhopal.
