Laurie Markham is a licensed marriage and family therapist who works across a broad range of issues with individuals, couples, youth, and families. Her fondness for young people can be traced to her first career as a teacher in public schools.  Since becoming a therapist, she has worked with young people in a variety of settings, including public mental health, integrative medicine, and private practice.
She also spent five years as co-director of a non-profit community counseling center, training pre-licensed therapists to work with economically distressed individuals and families.  Prior to that, she served as clinical training director at the University of Southern California and was adjunct faculty in a school counseling program at California State University, San Bernardino.
She also co-authored the book, Narrative Therapy in Wonderland: Imagining New Possibilities with Young People and Their Families, with David Epston and David Marsten and has published articles in Family Process and The Journal of Feminist Family Therapy.
